ChatGPT opens the door to many new ways of processing and improving text, all with very little effort. Tools to improve your writing and fix your grammar have always been in demand, and now they’re even easier to use.

Fixed keys is a native application that relies on a large language model to modify text in various ways. It can fix spelling errors, improve writing in general, change its style or format, summarize, translate and more.

If you just want to check your text for spelling errors and fix them, Fixkey includes a simple function accessible via a hotkey. When activated, all text in the current field will be processed and corrected as necessary.

When using this feature, other modifications are kept to a minimum, but style changes are still possible, and punctuation will be improved. In most cases, though, this is a good way to quickly fix your grammar.

You also get a second hotkey, ⌥J By default, this opens a popup menu. From here, you can select a number of other options, which will only affect the highlighted text. You can improve your writing, convert it into bullet points, make it shorter, change its format, etc.

Just like ChatGPT, you can choose to provide custom prompts. Enter any action you want the app to do, such as rewriting the same paragraph in a different style, and see your text replaced in seconds.

Fixkey is a well-made app that focuses on accessibility and being unobtrusive. Most features require an internet connection, but an offline model is available for some operations. There are many potential uses, and its macOS integration makes it easy to implement in most workflows.
