There is a video player based on the MPV open source project, aiming to provide a modern space to watch videos, manage playlists, process media content or load movie subtitles.

A media player that makes the most of available space without compromising functionality

Right away, you need to use the IINA file menu to direct the application to the media you want to play: you can load a local file or provide a video URL. The application works with all popular media formats.

Note that IINA will detect all supported videos from the folder selected by the user and add them automatically to the playlist panel. Additionally, IINA allows you to browse chapters.

It’s worth mentioning that IINA doesn’t waste any menu space: all control bars are automatically hidden and the entire application window is reserved for rendering video. Of course, you can easily resize the IINA window and even switch to full-screen mode.

Full control over video and audio content and fast loading of subtitles

IINA lets you manage media playlists or adjust video, audio and subtitle rendering through unobtrusive menus, but commonly used tools also come with predefined hotkeys.

This video player includes most of the features one would expect from a full-featured media rendering application. Additionally, you can use filter strings in MPV format to further process video and audio content.

More customization options are included in IINA’s Preferences window, where you can quickly change the interface theme, tweak default behavior and user interface, decide if you want subtitles to load automatically, configure new keybindings, and more.

The IINA project is still in development, but the player manages to provide a beautiful space where you can render high-quality media without cluttering your desktop.

Within IINA’s user interface, you can work with playlists, adjust details related to video or audio rendering, load and sync subtitles, and more.

IINA Player also supports Touch Bar so that you can easily navigate the playback slider from the top of your keyboard.
