Media file conversions can get quite complicated with all the formats and codecs available to you, especially when you don’t know which ones are supported or appropriate for a specific device.
IM Video Converter is a relatively simple conversion application with some limited editing capabilities. It allows you to easily convert video and audio files into formats playable on various types of smartphones, but it is not suitable for high-resolution content and newer devices.
If there’s one thing this app does well, it’s the intuitive way it handles files. Just drag and drop clips and songs into the main window one or more times and convert them all into one big batch.

You can choose your preferred file format, codec resolution, frame rate, etc., but it’s not required. If you just want to keep it simple, there are presets for various models of iOS devices and Android phones, but they’re very limited.
Unfortunately, unless you’re still using a very old iPhone or Android, IM Video Converter isn’t going to be of much use. It only has presets for iPhones up to the 5th, and one for newer models, but it’s still very outdated.
The presets are customizable, of course, but the resolution, frame rate, and bitrate options are very limited. They only top out at 1080p, 30 fps, and 6000 bitrate, which makes the app unsuitable for handling modern high-quality videos.
Ultimately, while the app still seems to be receiving updates, it’s only useful if you need to convert a video to a lower-quality version, or if you somehow still have a functioning iPhone 5 or iPad 2. There are many better options out there, many of which are free.
