DFU Tool Steps

– Install Windows 10 on a PC with a USB 3 port.
– Copy and paste the DFU tool and the corresponding D400 series firmware .bin files to the Windows 10 host. Note which directory files are stored.
– Open the directory of the DFU tool; and right click on RS400DfuConsole.exe and choose Run as administrator. You can also open a command line as administrator and run RS400DfuConsole.exe from there.
– Plug the D400 series camera into the Windows 10 host system via a USB 3 cable into the USB 3 port. The command line window should appear with the main menu of the tool displayed. Press 2 then [ENTER] to display a list of cameras that can be updated.
– Notice that a list is produced in the command line window; press 1 [ENTER] to select the D400 series camera and start the firmware update process.
– The prompt asks the user to enter the path of the firmware file .bin. Type the full path of the file with the file name of the included firmware and press [ENTER].
– Outgoing notification of downloaded bytes during transmission, this process takes about 3 minutes to complete.
– When the firmware upgrade is complete, the camera will reset. A Windows icon indicating that the device is in the process of further configuration should appear. The main menu reappears.
– Check the firmware version installed on the camera by pressing, 3 and [ENTER].
– Note that the firmware version has changed on the connected Intel RealSense camera.
