Create your own multimedia screensavers
Creating your own personalized screensavers is easy if you know how, and iScreensaver Designer is a great tool for this. Screensaver Designer 4 is a cross-platform screensaver editor that instantly converts QuickTime-compatible images, movies, and Adobe Flash files into a standard screensaver. It even creates an installer that you can share with your friends.
When you first open Screensaver Designer 4, it asks if you want to download a sample project to work with. However, when I tried to do this, I received several error messages saying that the program was unable to find some important system files. To start your own project, simply select “File” and “Open.” Give your project a name and go ahead.
The buttons at the top of the interface are self-explanatory – you can add video and even audio, or simply drag and drop media files into the main interface. However, I couldn’t find a button to add images, which is a bit confusing. You can mix and match your creations until you’re happy with them, then use the Preview button to test out your screensavers. To share it with others, simply click the “Install” button.

Screensaver Designer 4 will appeal to both beginners and professionals who want an easy way to create their own screensavers. However, it is worth noting that the provided example of a screensaver did not open for me, and the lack of a button for adding images is a little inconvenient.
