File archiving is a method of compressing valuable data into lighter files that take up less space on some devices (especially portable devices, since they have less storage capacity). It utilizes their encryption capabilities and other auxiliary functions to enhance security or other software.

After loading the dmg image file, the application automatically detects missing components that need to be installed or updated, and offers to download and install them to keep itself in top working order.

Regarding encryption, there are three AES methods to choose from: 128, 192 and 256 bits. After that, the password must be defined and confirmed in the next field.

Like any other archiving tool, it is bound to CPU activity and puts a lot of load on it to perform tasks. Performance is also affected by HDD drive generation and architecture, depending on the speed (read/write sequence) it provides for archives. Naturally, SSDs get the job done faster. Even so, in our tests, resource consumption was decent compared to other resource-hogging alternatives.
