JRuby is a complete Java implementation of the Ruby language created for the Java Virtual Machine. It includes a core set of classes and syntax for the programming language, as well as most of the Ruby standard library. Most of these are existing .rb files that ship with Ruby, but some C-based extensions have also been reimplemented.
