The KX3 Companion is an app designed to enhance the functionality of your Elecraft KX3 HF radio, making operation easier and more convenient without the need for a PC.

It allows you to send and receive CW, PSK31 and RTTY using your mobile phone or tablet keyboard. Additionally, you have the option of using an external Bluetooth keyboard connected to your Android device.

You can create up to 10 dynamic symbol macros that automatically update Call, Name, QTH and Locator information.

The app connects to your KX3 via the USB serial cable that comes with the radio. You will also need an inexpensive OTG cable adapter to connect the serial USB to your mobile device, which you can find for a nominal cost. No other cables are required.

The KX3 Companion also allows you to record complete QSOs and log them for potential export to your preferred QSO logging software or service.

The new SWR Meter feature allows you to swipe a frequency range and see a graph showing SWR values. You can choose from 3 to 13 steps, with each step from 5 to 500 kHz. The maximum number of steps varies based on screen size and orientation.

With the KX3 Companion you can:

• Log RST values ​​and competition serial numbers

• Access remote control functions for the KX3

Additional features such as eQSL.cc support, serial over Bluetooth functionality and audio spectrum/waterfall display are under development.

IMPORTANT: To connect your Elecraft KX3 to your mobile device, you will need the serial USB cable that comes with the radio and an OTG USB cable adapter. Make sure your device supports OTG cables. Some operators may limit this functionality. Please confirm with customer service if necessary.
