Identifying the IP addresses of all the devices connected to a local area network can be a challenge without the proper tools, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a utility designed for this specific purpose.

Just one click to start scanning your network for devices

LAN scan is a minimalist application that will scan your entire network, allowing you to see all available IP addresses, their MAC addresses, their hostnames, and the associated vendor for each device. Additionally, LanScan uses ARP packets to determine complete IP ranges.

To get started, just press the “Lan your Scan” button and the app will take care of the rest. In the main area, you will be able to view all available connections and sort them by IP, MAC, hostname or provider.

Find detailed information about all live devices on your local network

LanScan is able to detect configured interfaces such as Ethernet, virtual interfaces or airports. Meanwhile, the following hostname resolutions are being used: SMB for Windows devices, mDNS and DNS for Apple devices.

In the bottom right corner of the main window, you can see how many devices have been detected in total, while the Edit Hostname button in the top toolbar allows you to adjust the name of any device.

Additionally, you can extract the available data by selecting Copy information to clipboard via the context menu.
