Batch file renaming tool that enables users to create suitable naming patterns

maFileRenamer comes with 4 methods that can be used to change file names: Delete, Replace, Add and Number. The tools are divided into tabs, each with their own customization options.

This utility enables you to remove multiple characters from a file name, delete certain characters, delete text before or after a certain segment, or decide to use only letters or only alphanumeric characters.

You can also make all characters uppercase or lowercase, capitalize words, or replace characters or text fragments. maFileRenamer can be used to add prefixes or suffixes, or insert metadata information into image files.

Last but not least, maFileRenamer allows you to number files starting from a value entered by the user. The number can be appended before or after the file name, and you can choose to sort the files alphabetically beforehand.

Run in simulation mode to preview the effect before changing the file name

Note that to use the maFileRenamer application you must first configure all renaming rules and select an output location, and only then load the files for processing, which is rather counterintuitive. maFileRenamer will start applying the renaming rules once you point them through the Finder menu.

Since maFileRenamer comes with simulation mode, you can preview the final result before actually changing the file name. However, remember that you will have to reload the file every time you adjust it, and then when you are happy with the results, remember to disable simulation mode.

Save rename patterns as presets or export them as Centurion actions

It is worth mentioning that each renaming mode configured in the maFileRenamer application can be retained as a preset: you can load it again at any time and use it with a new set of files.

Additionally, maFileRenamer gives you the option to export your schema as C operations that can be run in Centurion applications designed by the same developer. Centurion can help you move files to different folders and you will be able to apply maFileRenamer naming patterns at the same time.
