The MapChart app is just a simple, easy-to-use and fun tool to create your custom world map from various indicators. You can mark specific locations or highlight certain areas, plan a trip or travel itinerary, emphasize geographic features or historical landmarks, or just for fun see how Europe was divided in 1815 or during World War I.

In the Create New Map window of the UI you can choose from various maps such as World Map (Simple or Advanced), Europe, Asia, Americas, Oceania Map – Detailed, USA (Countries and States), World Pap Subdivisions, Pacific Region . Additionally, there are so-called wargames, as well as region-specific maps, including Europa NUTS2 and NUTS3, French departments, German regions, Romanian regions and cities, and historic Great Britain and Ireland.

When you create a new map, the application provides a set of tools, additional functions, colors, eraser tools, legend editor and saving options to use. Depending on your map selections, you can go ahead and create custom charts. Select the regions or countries you want to include, color code countries you want to emphasize, and show or hide certain areas.

The Extras menu provides many options to add a specific twist to your map. Change background color, enable borders, change legend size, position, color or background, and customize country display name and position.

It is possible to have multiple setup schemes per map, which you define in the “Edit Legend” window. The method is very simple. Create a simple map based on a standard, give it a name and save it, add colors to it and go back to the main map and create the next one. Each custom layout can have a different color to identify the theme.

To change the default map theme, change the application theme, or adjust certain user interactions, go to the application’s About/Options window.
