The project comes with an intuitive graphical user interface, as well as a command-line interface and a web-based shell. Note that each component has its own archive, so you must download them separately.

The MediaConch GUI is divided into tabs so you can quickly navigate between the inspectors, results and various configuration panels. Right now, you must specify whether you want to verify a local file or folder, or an online resource.

Note that MediaConch offers you the possibility to load multiple files simultaneously, thus avoiding unnecessary duplication of operations. Additionally, you must specify the policy and output type to check: HTML, Text, Text Unicode, or XML.

Rely on built-in policies or import your own

It’s worth mentioning that MediaConch comes with predefined policy sets, and you can add new rules to each entry. Updated configurations can be easily exported to XLS files.

At the same time, MediaConch also provides you with the option to quickly import policy sets from other sources. The same rules apply to display sets, except you cannot modify or create new display files.

After the checker is complete, MediaConch generates several reports that can be viewed in the application’s GUI or saved as XML files on the disk drive. Keep in mind that the result list is not persisted between sessions.

Check compliance with policies for specific audiovisual documents

All in all, MediaConch provides a simplified solution for verifying compliance with certain standards when processing MKV, LPCM and FFV1 files. The application has batch processing capabilities, generates various reports, and allows you to set your own policy rules.
