picd is a tiny and lightweight utility that provides a quick way to capture your full screen or just an area of ​​it. The tool is connected to the picd.in service and allows you to take and share images through this service.

Setup is a quick and easy process that doesn’t require any special attention on your part. The app does not have an interface per se, but instead you can access it from the system tray. You can start by pressing the PrintScreen button and the application prompts you to select an area to capture via the mouse. If you don’t select any zone, the application captures the entire desktop. On a side note, to capture an area you need to start selecting in the app message area.

Unlike similar tools, the program doesn’t come with any advanced features and it would be nice if you could afford to add at least one watermark, for example.

Save the screenshot locally or share it directly

The program allows you to save screenshots locally as a PNG. On the other hand, if you use the picd.in website, you can also work with other file formats, namely BMP, JPG, WEBP and HENC. As for the service, the developer claims that you receive unique links for your screenshots. To remove it, you either need to press the Abuse button below the image or contact their team at [email protected], which may be a drag for some.
