Each letterform is nearly monolinear, with optical corrections applied to stroke joints where necessary to maintain consistent typographic color. The Devanagari base pitch and the Latin ascender pitch are the same; Latin capital letters are shorter than Devanagari characters, and the Latin x-height is set quite high.

The project was developed by the Indian Type Foundry (ITF). Devanagari was originally designed by Ninad Kale, while Latin was originally designed by Jonny Pinhorn. After their main phase of designing the first 5 styles, the typeface was later refined and expanded to include more weights and italics, by the ITF studio team.

How do you install the Poppins font?

Download the zip file and extract it to a folder. In the folder you will see a list of all Poppin’s font variants.

To install in Windows:

• Double-click one of the fonts, which opens the Windows font examples
• In that window you will see two buttons: “Print” and “Install”
• Press Install and the font will be ready to go on any application (may need to restart the OS or application depending on where you want to use it)

To install in macOS:

• Double-click the font in the Finder window
• Click Install in the font preview window that opens
• The font will appear in the Font Book app and will be available for use in your apps
