Coming up with names is one of the most difficult parts of creating characters, especially when you’re writing a novel with dozens or even hundreds of people to name. Even if you’re just looking for some inspiration, a name generator can be a huge help.

First, you can select the source (USA, France, Germany, Spain, or the Netherlands), specify the gender, and then select the name that should be randomized (first, middle, or last name). Characters may also have multiple middle names.

Once everything is configured, set the number of names to generate and export them to a .csv or .txt file. This is the only way to use the app, there is no option to view names within the user interface. Therefore, Roster is best suited for novelists or other users who need to create multiple names at once.
