scheduler is a free macOS application that lets you create events or alarms and automatically launch applications, documents, or scripts at any given time. It comes with various general, startup and alert options that you can configure according to your needs.

The application has an intuitive and easy-to-use main window where you can view planned items in a hierarchical list, simple list or calendar. Additionally, the top toolbar allows you to create new alarms/events and access the most common actions.

Settings in the alarm configuration window include setting name, date and time, reminder text and setting to repeat at a given interval, selection of sound, warning time, option to configure snooze function and activate it between two time intervals.

Also, the window where you can set which applications, documents, and scripts to launch allows you to choose which item to launch and which application to launch that item, among other scheduling options. Also includes startup options: at computer startup, after a period of inactivity, or at a specific date and time.

Other general features include the ability to postpone each alarm/event, search for events from the find bar at the bottom of the main window, delete and sort entries by clicking on column names, activate/deactivate entries and sort them into folders.

Another benefit of using the Scheduler app is that you can manage the sounds used to notify you of reminders. The Sound Manager window is accessible from the View menu and allows you to add, play, delete and record new sounds. Additionally, custom global keyboard shortcuts can be assigned to each task.

All in all, Scheduler is a versatile macOS app that makes it easy to create reminders for important events and automate routine tasks like launching apps, URLs, documents, and Applescripts anytime. Best of all, it’s available for free.
