On a Mac, scrolling direction can be difficult to control. The default setting is “Natural Scrolling,” which feels weird when using a mouse, and you can’t customize it for mice and trackpads separately. For that, you need a third-party app.
Roll Reverser is such an app. It allows you to independently control the scroll direction of your mouse and trackpad, including vertical and horizontal scrolling. For the scroll wheel, it allows you to customize the step size.
One feature that’s sorely missing from macOS is regular scrolling with a trackpad and inverse scrolling with a mouse. The default “natural scrolling” feels natural for a trackpad but counterintuitive for a mouse.
