SilverFast HDR Studio is an advanced software application designed for scanning images to 64-bit or 48-bit HDR(I) RAW data format, editing photos, and using the scanner’s automatic color calibration mode.

At first glance, the GUI looks a bit overwhelming, as it displays a comprehensive feature package dedicated to the editing process. The layout is customizable, and you can disconnect the tool dialog from the main window and place it anywhere on your desktop.

You can set up the image acquisition process by providing details about the source (print or image), tasks (such as archiving, color restoration, editing operations, automatic enhancement of quick fixes, highlight protection and shadow detail), and color mode.

Depending on the end result you want to achieve, the utility offers different features for you to use. They vary depending on the previous setup configuration of the image acquisition process.

The best part of SilverFast HDR Studio is that you can be guided through the entire optimization mode step by step with the help of a wizard.

Assume you choose to edit the task. You can select a target photo, specify the scan area and set the output resolution, apply automatic image correction mode, examine the histogram, adjust gradients (midtones and contrast), correct very dark image areas and remove grain using automatic Adaptive Contrast Optimization and noise, remove dust and scratches, as well as select the output format (TIFF, PSD, JPEG, PDF, JP2) and enter metadata.

It also supports batch processing, so you can apply edit mode to multiple projects at the same time, and the job manager keeps track of all your actions.
