Simple Disable Key is a very interesting software that allows you to deactivate the function of almost any key on your keyboard or activate a temporary’Num Lock, ”Scroll Lock,’ or ‘Caps Lock.’ The way this works is that this program scans your PC for any key on the keyboard and then compares it with a list of numbers. If the number matches a series of numeral characters (both upper and lower), it displays an icon on the desktop indicating that the key is currently disabled. You can toggle this via the software’s easy-to-use menu.

The feature is useful if you often disable key combinations by accident. For instance, if you are playing a game and accidentally click a shortcut to your back arrow in battle and then enable the key combination, disable Simple Key will automatically turn it off, thus breaking the game. It also helps you keep keyboard clutter down as you do not want to have to look for and select every single disable key on the keyboard to get to the one you want to change. This software has a very simple interface, as opposed to some other similar utilities which require various different add-ons and/or cheats.

In addition to turning off keys, this utility also provides a neat little feature that displays a list of all your permanently disabled or unassigned keys on the desktop with a handy check box. To turn them back on, just select the “Turn on Auto Keys” option from the main menu. This feature is incredibly useful for users who use a lot of “sharp keys” – ie., keys with higher than normal modifiers. By pressing the appropriate “x-mouse-button control” key you can instantly restore the previously used as input to its previous state. I would highly recommend using this utility to quickly hide unwanted windows shortcuts and to quickly return control of the windows keys back to you.
