Extracting still images from video may seem simple, but becomes more difficult if you need to grab a bunch of images or otherwise manipulate them.

Load the video and start capturing

First, you can import a local file or simply paste a web URL, including URLs from YouTube. You’ll be able to preview the content, flip or rotate it, and navigate to the scene you’re interested in. You can also slow down playback and even move frame by frame.

It would be great if there was a hotkey for capturing an image, as it would make your job a lot easier if you want to use the mouse to navigate without having to move the cursor to the capture button every time.

You can configure the app to grab frames at specific intervals, extract a specific number of frames from a video, or just capture every available frame.

Create videos and GIFs

When capturing images, you can specify how they are saved. By default, they are written as a series of images, but animated GIFs and time-lapse videos can also be created. This is all handled automatically after the frame itself has been captured, and you can process multiple clips in batch mode. However, they must all use the same output settings.
