In SpeakLine’s left panel, you can type or paste snippets of text, and the Speech panel helps you choose the voice you want to use for reading.

The bottom toolbar enables you to start or stop the reading process and access a list of all saved text fragments. From the Saved Text slide, you can view all saved text, sort them in ascending or descending order, and add or delete entries.

Preview the generated audio file at a custom volume level of your choice

You can have SpeakLine read your text using the system voice or one of the fun voices provided with your version of macOS, plus you can export an audio version of your text directly from SpeakLine with just a few mouse clicks.

To do this, you simply open SpeakLine’s “Export” menu, select the “..As audio file” option, name the file and set the destination path.

Additionally, the Preferences drop-down table allows you to easily adjust the speaking speed to your desired word-per-minute value. Best of all, you can change the volume level simply by dragging the slider to the right or left end of the bar.
