Python script that enables you to synchronize the media player over the Internet to support watching the same video file with friends
New features of Syncplay 1.6.9:
- Go back to the 32-bit version of Windows and fix the problem on 32-bit Windows or only the 32-bit version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Package (Issue #425 was raised by @Kehanort and resolved by @Et0h with the support of others). To help solve such problems in the future, Syncplay will now also send information about the system platform when it is updated.
- Removed the reference to our discontinued IRC channel, instead directing people to https://github.com/Syncplay/syncplay/issues and https://github.com/Syncplay/syncplay/discussions (in response to @Mikaela’s proposal Issue #430)
- Bundle libxcb1 into AppImage to fix the problem on Debian 10 (Issue #380 was reported by @zyusouken and resolved by @daniel-123)
- Bind libgthread-2.0.so.0 to AppImage (@teohhanhui’s PR #432 to solve their problem #431)

Synchronous playback Is a Python application designed to automatically synchronize videos over the Internet with the help of public servers. This way, whenever someone in your group pauses, rewinds, or fast-forwards the video, the change will be reflected on all connected devices.
Simple and straightforward drag-and-drop installation
To install Syncplay on your Mac, simply drag and drop the Syncplay application from the installed DMG to your application folder. If you want to use it with VLC media player, please run the downloaded package which is also included VLC installation script.
After everything is ready, the Syncplay service and related scripts must be started from the command line. However, the script comes with a user-friendly interface to help you connect to the Syncplay server and monitor room activity.
Connect to the Syncplay public server to keep the video playback synchronized on all devices
Through the Syncplay graphical user interface, you can connect to a room on one of the public servers and view all other users who decide to join (you can let the app generate anonymous usernames, or manually set them to allow others to join) to know you).
Here you can see if everyone is ready to watch the video, and see who paused the movie, or performed any other playback management tasks.
Please note that Syncplay connects directly to the media player and automatically synchronizes commands to all devices without any user intervention. Syncplay is suitable for VLC and mpv media players.
