Unarchiver is a completely free macOS application that can be successfully used as an alternative to Apple’s BOMArchiveHelper.app, the free built-in unarchiving utility.

Currently, The Unarchiver is distributed directly on the developer’s website and through Apple’s Mac App Store, and the only difference between the two apps is that the App Store version is sandboxed, while the directly downloadable version is not.
