TotalFinder gives you an enhanced Finder with the ability to display two Finder windows side by side. If you miss the classic two-panel file manager, you’ll enjoy this feature when you move files from one panel to the other.

Additionally, both Finder windows can retain their own toolbars and a sidebar located on the right edge of the right window, while the width of the right sidebar is automatically synchronized with one of the left sidebars.

A normal Finder window shows folders and files mixed together, and you can sort them by name, date modified, and size. However, if you prefer to view folders first and files last, regardless of sorting options, TotalFinder can help.

Thanks to TotalFinder, you can always display your folders at the top of the list and sort files and directories just like in the original Finder. Best of all, you can reveal any hidden system or user files with just a keystroke. All hidden files are also displayed before normal items for a smoother and easier browsing experience.

Visor is another useful TotalTerminal-inspired feature that allows you to summon a system-wide TotalFinder window at the bottom of the screen by pressing a keyboard key. While this feature is disabled by default, advanced users can easily enable it by visiting the Preferences window. You can easily fix or resize the Visor, and customize the swipe effect by adjusting the swipe duration and adding fade effects.

The Preferences window helps you personalize TotalFinder and hide or show the progress bar in the Dock, enable or disable Visor, customize various keyboard shortcuts and disable tabs completely.
