tuxedo paint is an educational drawing program designed for preschool and K6 students that combines fun sound effects with an intuitive GUI. The app provides quick access to a variety of tools, allowing kids to draw anything on the canvas.
The installation process is reduced to a simple drag-and-drop operation, but the first time the utility is launched, it must cache the fonts installed on the Mac, a process that usually takes some time. The good news is that Tux Paint only has to do this once.
The app lets you save projects within the app and lets you organize them in slideshows. When browsing Coloring Book in slideshow mode, the app lets you adjust the playback speed, or you can use the arrow keys to control the slideshow.
In addition, Tux Paint comes with a collection of starter images, including coloring book style images, photography scenes that can be used as backgrounds, vector graphics and many KidPix templates.
In the user interface, all drawing tools are organized into a quick-access toolbar: just select the tool you want to use from the left panel, and customize its output from the right toolbar.
The app supports brushes, rubber stamps, line/shape/text/label tools, erase and undo. In addition, you can use a large number of special effects.
