There are many common words or phrases consisting of many letters and/or symbols that need to be written regularly, and typing them each time can slow you down considerably.

Type It4Me Alleviates this problem by automatically replacing longer words or phrases with various abbreviations, saving you the trouble of typing them out completely. You can create your own dictionary of abbreviations, sync it, run Applescripts, and even use autocorrect to reduce spelling mistakes.

The main functions of the app are fairly simple. After typing the abbreviation defined in the preferences, just press space, tab, or any other configured trigger and it will be replaced by a longer snippet. You can specify which apps the feature should be active in, and even set different behaviors for each app.

You will need to create your own set of abbreviations, depending on what you normally write. If you want to use these settings on multiple Macs or even iOS apps, you can sync them via iCloud or other cloud services.

Easy to use and highly configurable

While you can change a lot of settings, TypeIt4Me is very simple to use. The interface layout is straightforward, and if you don’t remember them, you can always check the menu bar for a list of all available abbreviations in a set. It also includes a very detailed user manual.
