GlissEQ is an analog-style equalizer in plug-in form. The most interesting thing that GlissEQ offers is its dynamic equalization performance. Using almost any existing equalizer, you always get what you set: for example, if you specify a +6 dB boost at 100 Hz, you get exactly a +6 dB boost at 100 Hz, also visible in the spectrum analyzer. GlissEQ offers a slightly different approach. When +6 dB at 100 Hz is specified, +6 dB gain is not necessarily achieved. The actual gain of the filter is dynamically adjusted based on the program material it is filtering.

This “dynamic nature” of GlissEQ gives you a much friendlier and more useful filtering experience. Increasing the maximum values ​​will not necessarily create the exhausting effect of overload. Instead, you’ll get a nice transient boost effect that adds life and dimension to your track – which is why GlissEQ sounds downright musical.

This transient emphasis works for whatever frequency the filter is set to: for example, it can be useful on the lower and mid frequencies to give a track more punch. In addition, the strength of the transient emphasis and the overall gain setting of the filter can be controlled with a special ‘Dyn’ control. In fact, this ‘Dyn’ control adds a new dimension to the equalizer as you know it!

Alongside this amazing “dynamic nature”, GlissEQ offers a built-in FFT spectrum analyzer. In addition, the track’s spectrum can be exported to any other instance of GlissEQ, making cross-channel spectrum overlay possible. This can help you free up frequency ranges on one track to let the instrument on another track occupying those frequencies breathe.
