FocusWriter is a word processor developed by Gott Code. This handy tool has been designed to provide writers with a distraction-free environment so they can focus on their writing. By showing only a sheet of paper in the background, FocusWriter hides all unnecessary interface controls that can distract writers from actually working on their projects.

Hidden interface

The main advantage of FocusWriter is its hidden interface. When the application is launched for the first time, all users will see a blank sheet of paper on a virtual desk. The FocusWriter window takes up the entire screen, so users won’t be able to see their taskbars or quick icons. Of course FocusWriter still comes with commands. To access these commands, drag your mouse to the edges of the window and the commands will appear. At the top, users will find the menu bar, and at the bottom, open documents and daily progress. On the left and right, users will find bookmarks of their works.

Other features

FocusWriter has an alarm system that will remind you to start working. You can also set a timer for yourself if you only have limited time to write. Also, if you really want to discipline yourself to write every day, FocusWriter allows users to set a daily writing goal that requires them to write a certain number of words each day.

FocusWriter is a great tool to help writers forget about distractions and really focus on writing. You may find it frustrating to look for commands when you need them, but this only increases the efficiency of the program by preventing you from doing anything other than writing.
