JoyToKey lets you control numerous applications, from web browsers to Windows Explorer, with your favorite Windows joystick. It will emulate keystrokes or mouse input based on joystick input, so that the target application will work as if you were using a real keyboard or mouse.
The application allows you to create multiple configuration files to switch between different key/mouse assignments. The great thing about JoyToKey is that it supports automatic association with target applications, so the config file will automatically switch when the target application changes.
Key features include:
- virtual joysticks.
- Button alias.
- Switch between multiple key assignments.
- Prioritize among multiple joysticks.
- Change the location of the configuration files.
- Associate profiles with target applications.

JoyToKey is a nifty tool that allows you to turn your joystick into a PC control device with minimal effort. You can create multiple config files and easily load the one you want: just click the button you have assigned to the “Switch to another config file” feature. The configuration includes 32 buttons, 6 axes and 2 point of view (POV) switches for each of the joysticks.
All in all, JoyToKey is a lightweight, feature rich keyboard emulator that lets you rely on your joystick to control apps and games. It doesn’t require installation, but instead requires a supported device to be connected or the app won’t load (JoyToKey supports up to 16 joysticks).
