Mother of Many is a free indie Windows game developed by the Brainwash Gang. You will become the titular Mother of Many and attempt to feed the mouths that depend on you for food, all the while battling hordes of terrible monsters.

The theme of Mother of Many is similar in many ways to other dark indie horror titles such as The Baby in Yellow. If you particularly like Mother of Many’s 3D pixel art style, you’ll probably enjoy other pixel art horror games like Neighbor for Windows as well.

The mother of many centers around a family of mice living deep in the darkness of the forest. Your main goal is to find food to support your young. However, this is not just food gathering or farming; the forests are dark and full of horrors, and your once fertile lands are cursed.

You will need to show your mother’s love by fighting hordes of terrible demons in order to feed your family. The battle with the demons also brings you closer to deliverance from the terrible curse that has afflicted your lands.

Controls

Mother of Many uses simple game mechanics that are familiar to most gamers. You will love the simple movement controls and left click to attack. The spacebar will lift you into the air in short bursts to help you get past obstacles and reach higher places. For added convenience, the game also supports gamepad controls.

Gameplay

There’s more to Mother of Many than just battling demons; You can also grow certain plants to improve your character’s abilities and support your family.

Unfortunately, the game has a limited time limit. The ending is also bewildering, leaving players with hope for a possible sequel. Multiple playthroughs are enjoyable, although multiple attempts do not lead to alternate endings.

Solid premise, brilliantly executed

Mother of Many is a very enjoyable experience if you enjoy the darker nuances of storytelling and gameplay. The game runs well on most Windows operating systems and contains enough action elements to keep even the most hardcore gamers entertained. You will take on the role of the main guardian and explore the dark, intricate environment of this 3D pixel art game.
