Apple’s Calculator app is surprisingly powerful, but there are plenty of ways to improve it, which is why there are plenty of alternatives. One of them is Numi, and it’s one of the most impressive options we’ve come across.

Instead of remembering various signs or functions, you can just write down whatever you want the app to do, resulting in an extremely intuitive tool with a very smooth learning curve. On top of that, it can convert anything from common measurements to currencies and time zones.

Whatever you wanna do – just spell it

If you’ve never used an app like this before, it might seem a bit odd at first, but just take a look at the first screenshot to get a feel for how it works. If you want to calculate or convert something, just describe the operation using plain language and the app will know what you mean.

We really think it’s worth it, but many people might not be willing to shell out that much for a calculator no matter how advanced it is. However, you’ll be hard pressed to find such a versatile and easy-to-use alternative.
