The third game was nuanced from the second when Reyes won a 5-4 victory over Meikle by scoring the double five for a decisive break after missing two darts during his previous visit.

The pair had swapped legs along the way, with Meikle checking out an impressive 104 to level it up to 4-4 and keep their hopes up. His chances of leading the group quickly vanished in the next stage when Reyes won two out of two victories with an average of 95.

For the third consecutive time in the evening, a game went to the ninth stage while Henderson remained in contention with a 5-4 victory over Noppert. The Scotsman had reached a 2-0 lead after checking 140 for a first 12-dart game, before Noppert produced a finish of 129 on target to make it 2-1.

Henderson entered his last game knowing he would have to restrict Meikle to a maximum of two legs if he had any hope of leading the group. A 5-0 shutout did the trick, the 47-year-old controlled 121 on target for a 12-dart break before going 3-0 despite Meikle averaging 104.

A dominant display triggered a cry “ this is not fair '' & # 39; & # 39; de Meikle when Henderson made it 4-0, and finally established the double 12 to end the victory with an average of 104 which limited his opponent to a single double try.

Despite Henderson's pressure, a spot in the next round was ultimately that of Reyes, as he posted a 5-2 victory over Noppert, who had produced a win of 156 to make it 2-2 in start of the match.
