Scottish clubs voted against the Rangers' resolution to open an independent investigation into the conduct of the SPFL during an EGM on Tuesday.
The resolution, proposed by the Ibrox party and supported by Hearts and Stranraer, demanded at least 32 votes from the 42 members of the four professional divisions, but only 13 clubs voted in favor of independent investigation after weeks of fighting and uncertainty. in Scottish football.
A minimum of nine Premier League clubs, eight championship clubs and 15 leagues one and two combined had to vote for the opening of an investigation.
After the meeting, SPFL President Murdoch MacLennan urged all clubs to respect the democratic process and join their efforts to restart football when it is safe.
He said: "The past few weeks have been strong for many people in our game. Too many words have been spoken and written which have wreaked anger and division among the clubs. This is a source of deep regret for a lot of people in our game, including myself.
"I know that the supporters of this resolution will be disappointed, but I am convinced that all the parties concerned, on both sides of this argument, will now respect the clear, democratic and decisive result that we have seen today and will allow our game to move forward together.
"The overwhelming majority of clubs voted against this resolution and it is now up to all clubs to put aside their differences, otherwise we will all suffer."
"We all understand that the Covid-19 pandemic has posed enormous challenges to our game, which we must overcome quickly if we are to save the 42 clubs and restart the sport we all love."
FBCL President Murdoch MacLennan called for unity
"It is an intimidating prospect in itself, one of the gravest that our sport has ever faced and it is no exaggeration to say that it threatens the very existence of many SPFL clubs if we're wrong. "
"If Scottish football wants to survive this, we just have to unite and use the enormous talents, resources and creativity we collectively have to save our game."
"Time is short. In fact, we have to do everything humanly possible to make the games work again in late July."
"We just can't afford to distract ourselves from more fights or court challenges. I'm sure we can all agree that the sooner we play football, the better."
Interim Ranger President Douglas Park previously said the club was ready to fund an independent investigation into the recent vote to end the lower league, and potentially Premier League, seasons with the process involved. controversy after Dundee's change of vote that the SPFL saw. resolution adopted

An internal investigation, led by Deloitte, after the aftermath of the vote, found no evidence of SPFL wrongdoing.
