Samsung plans to supply Exynos chips to Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo in 2021

Samsung is ready to provide your Exynos smartphone processor Chinese smartphone manufacturers Oppo and Xiaomi in 2021, according to a report.

The South Korean company would deliver its chips Exynos for some cheap smartphones of Chinese companies from the first half of next year. With this new initiative, Samsung could make it harder to compete for Qualcomm, which offers its system on chips (SoC) Snapdragon to various manufacturers in China and around the world. However, the San Diego-based chipmaker is facing the pressure MediaTek

, which also supplies its in-house mobile processors to various companies around the world and is second in the race.

Samsung’s System LSI business unit plans to supply chips Exynos to companies like Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi, according to a report by the South Korean news site BusinessKorea. The company would start with entry-level models initially, although it could offer its SoC for third-party premium smartphones after gaining some recognition in the market.

Samsung would have reduced the intrinsic supply of its SoCs Exynos due to a lower profit margin. Always offers Exynos 990 on their premium phones in India. However, the company decided not to use the high-end chipset for its Galaxy S20 models coming to the Korean market and preferred Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865.

That said, Samsung previously provided chips Exynos 880 and Exynos 980 to live for your phones. The company is also working on the launch of the SoC Exynos 1080 next week it would be part of the upcoming Vivo X60. However, it is also speculated that the chip will work with Samsung’s Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72, although it probably won’t debut in the Galaxy S21 series.

According to data provided by market research firm Counterpoint Research, Qualcomm led the mobile processor market in the second quarter, with a 29% market share. However, the participation rate fell by 3% compared to last year. MediaTek, on the other hand, came in second with a participation of 26 percent. However, Samsung faced a tough fight with Huawei and came in fourth with a 13% share.

It is likely that MediaTek

and Samsung is gaining ground, due to ongoing restrictions on Huawei, which also offers its HiSilicon Kirin chips. The Chinese company had a 16% share in the second quarter and ranked third, according to Counterpoint.
