Bungie has officially revealed Season 13 of Destiny 2 today and add new attacks, armor sets, and a combo activity called Battlegrounds. Season of the Chosen One also revisit where Destiny 2 He started by bringing in the Kabbalah Empress Caiatl as his main villain.
This is the first time players can see Caiatl, daughter of Calus, former Cabal Emperor and Destiny 2
original raid leader, rather than just reading about it in offscreen story dumps
Here’s the trailer:
As for content, Season 13 adds the following:
- Devil’s Den and SABER’s Fallen Attacks Destination 1
- A new attack called Proving Grounds that takes place in the final town and is unlocked later in the season.
- A set of seasonal armor called the Governor
- An exotic bow called Ticuu divination
- A paired, three-player activity called Battlegrounds
- Return of the Guardian Games event
This is in addition to some things Bungie previously revealed like Loot renewed on the Moon and in the Dreaming City, new Ritual Weapons from each of the Tower’s three primary vendors, and the return of Threshold Engrams and the Prismatic Rework. Loot from the Osiris Trials is also under review. Whether that means the “25+ Exotic, Legendary, and Ritualistic Weapons and More” promised by Bungie in Season 13, it looks like enough remains to be seen.
Destiny 2 feels a bit cramped right now, as its extinction mechanism makes old gear obsolete faster than new loot can be added. It doesn’t help much season 13, at the start at least, seems to be based on old content from the previous game and the previous seasons. Combine questions about this with the news that some of gamers favorite weapons he will be nervous and I am very skeptical about the direction of the game as we approach next season.
I hope this will prove me wrong. Season of the Chosen One It will be available next week, February 9, and will run until May 11.
