Destiny 2: Beyond the LightThe Deep Stone Crypt raid started yesterday and after nearly six hours the fire crews started to emerge victorious, unlocking a ton of new content for the entire game.

If you have logged in Destiny 2 Around 1:00 p.m. ET yesterday, you would have been invited to try out the game’s final raid, a puzzle-filled race through the most secret and dangerous parts of the Clovis Bray Europe facility to keep them from falling. in the hands of the Maison. . of fallen salvation. If you reconnected overnight, you would have been greeted by a new animated scene

setting of the next phase of the current Beyond the light expansion, similar to two years ago when those who defeated The Last Wish opened the rest of the Forsaken expansion.

This year’s raid, which helped Destiny 2 At the top of the Twitch leaderboards throughout the afternoon, it was filled with great moments, like stepping on a space station and then crashing into Europe. Destination luminous clan claimed victory as the first players in the world to beat Deep Stone Crypt, and they appear to be the winners, though Bungie is looking at the results and checking for cheaters. before officially declaring the champions .

For everyone else, here is the new content of Beyond the light who just opened:

  • A new mission from Variks.
  • A new mission for the Exo Stranger.
  • A new exotic quest for the Lament sword.
  • The beginning of the eclipsed areas in Europe.
  • Unlock the rest of the Variks Sabotage missions.

These first two missions are quite short and easy, but each rewarding in its own way. Variks’ takes place in a separate area and involves a lot of platforming and interesting dialogue. Finding the Exo Stranger is more boring, but it unlocks the High Albedo’s weapon, a welcome addition in these times of loot quest.

Meanwhile, the Eclipsed Areas are new, rotating regions on the map of Europe where the space station wreckage falls from the sky (more on that in a bit). As Zones play into some of the new quest stages, they also appear to have new activities associated with it, including at least one revolving around console hacking and drone destruction that uses raid-like mechanics.

The biggest additions are three new Exotics. While one, one Very powerful multi-target rocket launcher Called Eyes of Tomorrow, they are only obtained by completing the raid, the other two can be easily earned immediately. The Exotic Cloudstrike Sniper Rifle is a raffle from an Empire Hunt playlist that opens after you complete the Variks Europan Explorer I and II missions. The exotic sword Lament has its own much more complicated questline. Again, without spoiling too much, it’s all about investigating Exo artifacts in Europe, learning more about gunsmith Banshee-44’s past, and earning a really fun new weapon in the process. I wish all the exotic questlines were just as interesting and rewarding.

Taken together, that’s exactly the shot in the arm Beyond the light needed right now, and a great way to dive deeper into Europe, especially for those who aren’t up for the raid while the contest settings are still in effect. That doesn’t completely make up for the lack of new or revamped loot pools in general, and Season of the Hunt’s Wraithborn hunts still seem a bit sketchy right now, but the exploration and the story, Beyond the light

offers a lot.
