Early PS5 reviews indicate there is no VRR support, notwithstanding the specs list

Sony has apparently not found a way to support VRR on its consoles yet.

The variable refresh rate (VRR) it’s a feature what do we know PS5 can support.

When Sony officially revealed the console specifications, the platform owner has confirmed that VRR

supports port HDMI 2.1 from the console.

Unfortunately the PS5 release version

not compatible with VRR.

VRR is, of course, one of the coolest features that we hope will become a next-gen standard. Allows the screen to adapt its refresh rate to the game’s frame rate, eliminating or dramatically reducing screen tearing. The advantages of VRR

they are most evident in games where the frame rate cannot be set to 30fps or 60fps, as these slight drops now become much less noticeable to the user.

PS5 admits 4K at 120 fps, and the included cable can carry the entire signal, so it’s a bit strange to see the VRR, especially since Microsoft has been supporting the feature since the Xbox One X launch, and he’s definitely there when the Xbox Series X / S launches.

One thing to keep in mind is that there may not be PS5 game is currently VRR compatible, although the console itself can do it. In other words, there might just be no game that takes advantage of this feature, which would be a big deal as well.
