After telling players not to expect any major balance changes until December, Call of Duty: Cold War Black Ops
Co-developer Treyarch went ahead and made the one balance change most were asking for.
It’s of course a nerf to the MP5 SMG, or Submachine Gun Alpha, as it’s called in the game.
As for what those tweaks actually entail, Treyarch said the MP5’s base effective damage range has been reduced by 33%, which should bring it closer to other SMGs. The pistol’s initial recoil has also been “adjusted”.
The new values are now available on all platforms, but it is a bit early to know if the attempt was successful.
If you’re looking to take a break from Black Ops Cold War multiplayer, the game’s single player campaign is full of surprises that aren’t typical of Call of Duty. We have prepared two very useful guides for the most difficult missions of the campaign: Operation Chaos and Operation Red Circus.
