Epic Games Store now provides partial refunds to users who purchase a full-priced game that was recently available at a reduced price.

Epic Games has not yet officially announced the new addition to its digital store, but buyers are already automatically receiving partial refunds for titles that were only available at a reduced price.

Studio Mayday co-founder Joshua Boggs was one of the first to notice the change in Epic Games Store's refund policy, tweeting an automated email from the company. "The price of the games you bought has recently been reduced, so we're issuing partial refunds for the differences," he says.

Epic updated its return policy on the Epic Games Store earlier this year to reflect the policies that are already available in other storefronts. Their return policy now allows unlimited refunds within two weeks of purchase and with less than two hours of play. Prior to that, it was limited to two refunds per year.

The digital store recently became a harbinger of chaos after the release of GTA 5 last week, which is free until May 21 as part of the mega-offering Epic Games Store. GTA 5 and GTA Online are experiencing crashes due to "extremely high player volumes".
