Guild Wars 2 won’t release on Steam for a while, ArenaNet is focusing on the End of Dragons expansion

In a post in the game website, the developers of ArenaNet They said they had decided to put their release Steam “On hold at the moment.”

The studio said it was focusing all of its efforts on the upcoming Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons Expansion Pack

. This is currently set for release in 2021 after being revealed in March of this year.

ArenaNet also said it was working at full speed on a climax for Icebread Saga, the fifth season of Updates to Guild War 2 Game-as-a-Service Living World.

Guild War 2 is just one of many MMOs They have always been on their own platform, but are now making the jump to Steam. Star Wars: The Old Republic by EA came to Valve’s service in July 2020 after its December 2011 release, while Jagex’s RuneScape arrived on Steam in October of this year. Old School RuneScape is also set up for the platform at a later date.

Steam reached new heights of popularity in 2020 thanks to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. In April, the service registered 24,535,923 concurrent users, up from the record 20 million set a month earlier.
