Today’s revelation of Paper Mario: The Origami King For the Nintendo Switch, this confirmed several things, such as the fact that the Paper Mario franchise will debut on Switch this summer and that we suddenly feel a desperate need to quickly play all of the previous games in the series, but it also adds weight to those Mario remastered the rumors earlier this year.

As you may remember, a VGC report told us that Nintendo plans to release remastered versions of "most of the 35 years of the Super Mario catalog" this year. The report was quickly backed up by Eurogamer, and due to the credibility of both sources, the reports are considered by many to be true. As far as we know, announcements of such versions may be imminent.

However, the initial report also said that "several more Mario titles" will be released in 2020, including a new Paper Mario There is a long way to go, of course, but with the first announcement of the game now properly planned, we are even more open to the idea that others will do the same. Could we see similar announcements to those of today spread over the rest of the year?
