Some PS5 owners cannot update PS4 copies of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion

If you have a PlayStation 4 copy of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla or Watch Dogs Legion that you are hoping to update on PlayStation 5, you might be out of luck because none of the titles are performing as expected at the moment. This problem seems to only apply to Blu-ray owners in certain European countries, but it is nonetheless frustrating.

So, as you may already know, both titles offer free updates from PS4 to PS5. While we can verify that purchases from the PS Store are working as expected, Blu-ray owners are experiencing issues. What is supposed to happen is that you insert the PS4 disc and then download the next gen version. Instead, fans are charged £ 59.99.

This is obviously a bug and Ubisoft said it is investigating. There is a workaround that is to create a Turkish PlayStation Network account, but we don’t recommend going to such extreme lengths for an issue that will likely be fixed in the next few days. However, this is a disappointing confusion, there is no doubt about it; hope everything will be resolved soon.
