Widespread problems with PlayStation Network on PlayStation Vita prevented gamers from download ing or transferring games to the handheld for almost 24 hours. Kotaku

contacted Sony earlier today for more information, but received no response until the publication.

The first sign of a problem was sent to r / Vita subreddit last night when user mynameispotato92 made a thread about the issues encountered while downloading a previously purchased game from the system’s PlayStation Store app.

“I went to download [Ys Origin] on Vita and it wouldn’t let me, giving me the error code NP-2245-3 for not being able to connect [PlayStation Network] within the time ” the message says.

Since then this post and another equal were inundated with comments from other Vita owners who were unable to download their digital games. NAIL similar hilo

was posted on the ResetEra gaming forum this morning, noting that the transfer of games from PlayStation 3 to Vita was also on hold. Test by Kotaku exposed on PlayStation Store iproblem several times during the day.

In October, Sony sent a wave of concern across the Vita community. when you have deleted all content from Vita, PS3 and PSP from the mobile and web versions of PlayStation Store, eliminating a convenient way to buy and manage new games for these older systems. Many have taken this as a warning sign that company support for these platforms may end.

And now, with Vita’s downloads stopping, digital ownership concerns have skyrocketed for Vita owners who now have difficulty making purchases or downloading games they’ve already purchased.

We don’t know what all this means. Chances are good, this is only a temporary bug from PlayStation Network. RPG site Writer James Galizio recently showed up on Twitter that the PSP can still access its download list; Kotaku could not verify it independently. In addition he correctly noted that the clever but unfortunate Vita is still seeing game releases in Japan. So that’s a good sign.

Sadly, it looks like Vita owners will be left in the dark until Sony says something about it. We hope this is resolved and the Vita’s Store app and PS3 transfer capability will continue to work in the future.
