OnePlus reportedly launched its first real wireless headphones in July and may look like AirPods

OnePlus is rumored to launch its first true wireless headset, also known as the TWS headset, in July. It has been speculated that the Chinese company would bring its real wireless headphones with the OnePlus 8 series last month. However, the company did not unveil the long-awaited offering and ultimately introduced the Bullets Wireless Z as its affordable wireless headset. OnePlus is expected to compete strongly with Apple's AirPods with its real wireless headphones that have been long overdue. A special event could take place in July where the company could present the OnePlus Z in addition to the real wireless headphones.

A tipster named Max J. on Twitter has indicated that the real OnePlus wireless headset will launch in July. The tipster has also posted an image suggesting the design of headphones that look pretty much like AirPods.

OnePlus has not yet released details on its real wireless headphones. However, the tipster in December posted a conceptual image to suggest the company's launch of the true wireless headset. The headphones were slated to launch alongside OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro last month. However, the informant tweeted a few days before the launch that the company "unfortunately not" was going to release the real wireless headphones when the OnePlus 8 was launched.

The new OnePlus headphones are expected to debut alongside OnePlus Z, which was originally supposed to be OnePlus 8 Lite and would have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 SoC with 5G support. At the end of last month, Max J announced that OnePlus Z would be launched in July.

Gadgets 360 has contacted OnePlus to confirm the leak and will update this space when the company responds.

Interest in expanding the audio market
OnePlus entered the world of wireless audio devices with the launch of the first generation Bullets Wireless in-ear headphones in May 2018. The headphones were updated in May of last year thanks to the arrival of Bullets Wireless 2. OnePlus did not update the Bullets Wireless 2 this year, but brought an affordable version in the form of Bullets Wireless Z last month which is available from Rs. 1,999.

After bringing the three in-ear headphones, OnePlus seems ready to enter the real space of wireless headphones with its new offer. The company is expected to join Realme, owned by the same parent company BBK Electronics, and emulate the design of Apple's AirPods. However, it is likely that some changes will be made to the functionality front to offer distinction.

Counterpoint Research in its recent report found that while Apple dominated real wireless headset deliveries to India last year with its AirPods, Realme Buds Air managed to rank second in the market, largely thanks to design and form factor. that the two remember the AirPods. This gives new entrants like OnePlus a reason to follow in the footsteps of the Cupertino company.
