We’re getting an Assassin’s Creed Valhalla trailer today, but it’s not going to be the one you may have been expecting.

Ever since it was confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be one of today’s Xbox Series X reveals on Inside Xbox, fans have been anxiously awaiting the start of the show to finally see actual gameplay.

Unfortunately, it’s not quite going to be that. Hoping to set fans expectations correctly, Valhalla’s creative director, Ashraf Ismail, tweeted that what we’re going to get is just “a taste”, essentially a gameplay teaser.

Asked directly if that means anything like a proper gameplay demo, Ismail confirmed that it won’t be, to the disappointment of many.

We’re nonetheless excited to see anything from Valhalla after that CG announcement trailer. Come back today at 8am PT, 11am ET, 4pm BST and watch the reveal with us.

Ubisoft previously confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s map will encompass four English kingdoms and part of Norway, and the publisher’s head of communication for the Middle East clarified that Valhalla won’t be the biggest or longest game in the series.
