warn:
– If you experience any issues with this firmware update, please consult your local technical support representative.
– Do not turn off the device until the update is complete. This will take a few minutes. You will receive a message when the update is complete.
– The USB drive is not automatically mounted after a firmware update. To install them, unplug and reconnect.
How to use the updater:
1. Connect the TeraStation properly and configure the TeraStation and computer to run the updater on the same network subnet. The subnet masks should be the same, and the first three digits of the IP addresses should be the same. The last digit of the IP address should be different.
For example, if the computer’s IP address and subnet mask are
“192.168.0.10, 255.255.255.0”
The TeraStation’s IP address and subnet mask are
“192.168.1.150, 255.255.255.0”
then the updater will _not_ work properly.
In this case, reconfigure the TeraStation’s IP address and subnet mask to
“192.168.0.150, 255.255.255.0”.
Then they will be on the same subnet and the updater will work fine.
2. Close all applications. Also, stop or exit any firewall software.
3. Unzip the downloaded file and run “TSUpdater.exe”. When a TeraStation is detected, an update window will open.
4. If multiple TeraStations are connected, select the TeraStation to update.
5. Click Update and enter the TeraStation’s administrator password.
6. Click OK.
7. The transfer and update firmware will start. Wait until it’s done. The information LED will blink during the update.
8. When the update is complete, a message will be displayed.
Regarding NAS updates:
Upgrading Network Attached Storage (NAS) firmware can improve the overall performance, stability, and security of your system by adding various fixes for related issues, enhancing existing features (or adding support for new features), or updating different applications.
With so many NAS manufacturers and types of network storage, installing new firmware may not always be as easy as it seems — and not very secure either. Failure to perform a software update could result in a critical failure of the NAS.
Therefore, before you consider applying this release, please read the installation guide carefully and start the process only after you understand and are fully familiar with all the steps.
Also, it is best to consider using a UPS unit (Uninterruptible Power Supply) for this task, as a power outage will not affect the upgrade.
With all these aspects in mind, after reading the installation guide, click the download button to apply this firmware version to your NAS. Remember to check our website to stay up to date with the latest releases.
It is strongly recommended to always use the latest driver version available.
Try setting a system restore point before installing the device driver. This will help if you have incorrect or mismatched drivers installed. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or no longer supported.
