Build a base and train troops to conquer your enemies in this 3D strategy game with an online multiplayer component
There are many instances in classic fantasy tales where dragons save the day, even if most of the time they are the bad guys. Their power and intelligence are not to be underestimated, regardless of whether they are your allies or foes. Naturally, it’s a lot more interesting to have them under your control and make use of their power to level your enemy’s establishments.
Build a base, recruit an army and defeat your enemies
Dragon Lords: 3D Strategy
In the beginning, there’s a tutorial that gets you started on the basics and allows you to erect the foundations of your future empire. You need a couple of simple structures at first, but the demands become greater later on, and you also require more resources to erect advanced structures. Naturally, most of these buildings are either defensive or offensive, because you need to fend off enemy invasions and build an army at the same time.
Choose from a variety of different units
Creating units is fairly easy, but then again the training process takes actual time, so unless you are prepared to pay real currency in order to bypass waiting times, you are stuck watching the screen until your army is ready. Attacking is very straightforward as well, since all you have to do is spawn the troops by clicking on the screen and watch them as they take care of buildings on their own.
You can also get powerful heroes to increase the effectiveness of your troops, as well as dragons later on in the game. However, the differences are purely cosmetic, because you do not have to use actual tactics to control the units on the battlefield. The graphics are clearly designed with the mobile market in mind as well, which is yet another disappointment, especially since the interface is rather clunky for a mouse & keyboard.
Decent ideas that need more polishing
In the end, Dragon Lords: 3D Strategy might captivate the imagination of casual players, but the lack of tactical depth makes it difficult to stay excited for too long. In addition, the waiting times can be very frustrating if you do not wish to use real money in order to buy crystals and speed things along.
