Easier mapping of imported source data to application fields using the new Import Field Mapping dialog box. Provide a better app discovery experience for your users. Open a specific custom application when opening File Maker. Use the preview script step to save a copy of the program file in XML format. Use an XML file to make it easier to compare changes between file versions. Create scripts that read, write, and manipulate external data files to write log files or export data in a custom format.

Simplify debugging your workflow automation. Use the script preview stage to write information about script errors to a log file. Repeats the logic while the condition is true, then returns the result; replacing the need for some recursive user-defined functions. Sets the maximum number of iterations for recursion and loops in an expression. The default limit is 50,000 iterations, which can be reduced or increased using this function.

A new set of privileges allows developers to transfer control of account access to other team members without having to grant full access to any other parts of the file. The streamlined Manage Security dialog makes it more efficient to manage access to your user applications. With the Plug-in SDK, developers can digitally sign plug-ins. Notifications warn users before downloading an unsigned plug-in. Prevent other FileMaker files from accessing data and schema in your custom application. The “Require full permissions to use links to this file” option is now enabled by default on newly created files.
