Android SDK Platform-Tools (ADB) is Google’s official tool for using ADB commands on Android devices. These commands allow you to make changes to your Android device without rooting it by simply connecting it to your PC with a cable or network. For example, you can send your application to the device in APK format.

With this tool, you can do anything you want on your device by simply using the command line. It turns out that some of these commands could potentially flash elements such as recovery and stock ROM to leave the device from the factory or initiate advanced modifications.

The “ADB” acronym stands for Android Debug Bridge. This is because, as its name suggests, it acts as a bridge between your computer and your Android device, either through a USB connection or over TCP when establishing a network connection within your local network. To run it you have to run CMD in the path where you unzipped the files.

Starting in 2022, you can also “sideload” your application on Windows 11 using the Android SDK Platform-Tools (ADB). With this feature, you can install any APK natively on Windows or other stores such as Uptodown.
