Windows Terminal is a terminal emulator developed by Microsoft for Windows 10 and later versions as an alternative to the traditional Windows console. This app allows you to run any command line application, including all Windows Terminal Emulators, in a separate tab.

This program is pre-configured to run Command Prompt, PowerShell, WSL, SSH, and Azure Cloud Shell Connector, and you can run them in different tabs. In fact, this is one of the newest features compared to older consoles. You can work with different tabs to perform multiple operations at the same time.

Windows Terminal was announced in May 2019 as a newer alternative to Windows Console, and some of the code was already uploaded to GitHub that same month. The first preview version was published in July 2019. In May 2020, one year after the official announcement, the first stable version of the project was published and has been updated regularly since then.

Windows Terminal is a very useful application, mainly for intermediate or advanced users. Not only does it offer more features than the console that has come with Windows for decades, it also has a much more beautiful presentation with a modern and elegant interface.
